Rhode Skin, NETTE, Givenchy, LANEIGE, and Tree Hut: Five Different Ways to Photograph a Texture

A quick, no-fluff look at five brands' recent beauty product photography, from minimalist blush shots to surreal fragrance compositions.

Rhode Skin blush sticks: clean minimalism, true-to-shade color

This shot is clean from Rhode (@rhode). Six blush sticks rest on a glossy white surface, no clutter, no noise, just the product given room to breathe. The lighting is soft, but with a hard edge that gives you the real picture without polishing it away.

A few sticks are uncapped so you can see the actual shades: berry, mauve, dusty pink. Smart call, you take in the whole range at a glance. On brand? Completely. The taupe caps and lowercase logo say Rhode without trying too hard. The retouching is minimal and not plastic, and the bit of texture left on top keeps it feeling real. Solid, clean beauty product photography.

My one gripe is that it plays it safe. There's no face, no mood, no moment that makes you want it on your cheeks. It sells the product well, but it doesn't make you feel much. This product-only layout fits Rhode's minimalist approach, but add a single lifestyle shot to the lineup and it's perfect. As is, it's pretty, but a little cold. 8/10.

NETTE Mr. Cloud: blue-grey palette and surreal floral composition

The color story here is the whole thing, and it lands from NETTE (@nette.nyc). That pale blue-grey background is the main decision, cool, quiet, a little melancholy, and it makes every warm note pop against it. The cream-to-peach buds glow. The clean whites read fresh, the black cap anchors hard, and that single green blade cutting through is the exact jolt of contrast the palette needed. It's restrained but never flat, a nice bit of minimalist fragrance photography.

Composition is where it gets clever. In the first shot, the flowers bursting straight out of the cap turn NETTE's Mr. Cloud bottle into a little surreal moment, the bouquet becomes the subject, the perfume becomes the stem. The green blade curving down the right side pulls your eye along the whole bottle instead of letting it stall at the label, working with that sculptural bottle form instead of against it. The mirrored poem printed inside the glass is a beautiful touch, it rewards the second look.

Love love love!

Givenchy Sculptural Serum: Crispy glass textures and rich red tones

What on earth is happening here, and why does it look so satisfying from Givenchy Beauty (@givenchybeauty)? Absolutely in love with the rich red colors, sleek highlights, and "crispy" glass, really solid luxury skincare photography. Totally on brand for Givenchy's Sculptural Serum launch. Leaning more editorial than commercial, especially images 1 and 3 with the brush and texture work, that editorial cosmetics photography feel comes through nicely.

LANEIGE Bouncy & Firm patches: iridescent glow done right

Can skincare images get even more satisfying? Idk, but these shots from LANEIGE (@laneige_us) definitely sold it to me. Not getting into the drama surrounding the new product, these images feel genuinely next level. Everything looks so on point supporting this delicate iridescent glow of the patches from Laneige's Bouncy & Firm collection: the light on the product, the background, styling, models, colors. This is genuinely some of the better hydrogel patch photography I've seen in K-beauty product work lately.

Tree Hut Fall 2026: Playful, bold body scrub photography

Tree Hut's (@treehut) fall carousel caught my eye, even though the brand already jumped into winter content and we're barely into fall, with Halloween still ahead. Regardless, it's a fun direction for their Fall 2026 collection. There's something relaxing about the playful vibe here, and honestly, nothing wrong with that. This kind of bold, glow-up body scrub photography fits Tree Hut's packaging really well.
